Time flies when you’re having…
I didn’t intend to go a year between posts, but here we are. I think most people can relate to “best laid plans” over the past couple of years. A lot has happened in the past 12 months. There have been moments of incredible challenge and moments of light.
I dived right into my master’s research, which is something I’ve been meaning to do for years. It’s not necessarily the easiest time to be doing it, but I’m incredibly glad that I did. Having something I am really passionate about to focus on amidst all the swirl has been immensely helpful, even when it’s been hard.
I haven’t written much fiction, because I’ve been concentrating on said research, but I can’t wait to get back to it in a few months. When I have had a creative flare, it’s been choreography. It’s interesting how different forms of expression work at different times.
The Plot Bunnies Forest has grown to 100 trees and will be 101* by the time the tree that accompanies this post (Pseudotsuga macrocarpa, bigcone douglas spruce/fir) has been planted. My plan was to plant a tree or trees for each post here and since I didn’t write any, I went on a tree planting spree instead. If you’re interested, you can see the trees that have been planted and their impact HERE.
There’s a lot more that I could say about the past year, but I think it’s better to look forward to the future. We don’t know what that holds, but whatever it brings, may you be safe and well, and if it helps, remember that everything changes and the way things are now is not the way they are always going to be. That’s certainly been a useful thing for me to remember when times have felt particularly tough.
Take care out there friends.
*Edit: I decided to plant 5. HERE they are.
